What music do you recommend for a formal cocktail reception?

I'm organizing a formal cocktail reception for lawyers in a very formal setting, a private club with all oak panelling and chandeliers, that kind of thing. The attendees will be professional people with some young, many middle-aged and some old. What type of (recorded) music do you recommend should play? Any help would be most appreciated.
