Bought a chandelier to hang in daughter's room, but it came with a plug?

The chandelier is to go in my soon-to-be-here daughter's room. BUT when it came in it had a two prong plug. Is there any way to hook it up to be like, the main lighting in the room? Would we have to cut the plugs and strip the wires? I'm clueless.
